Someone Got A Swanky Camera!

I'm finally going to take photos using something other than my phone or my little sister's digital. I'm excited!

Obviously, having never taken photos of more than my dog using a scarily-professional camera before, I'm in diiire need of some practice. So I hope all you lovely people can be patient with me over the next few weeks/months while I get used to all the pointing and focus and exposure and all the other mumbo jumbo!

I thought that for my first few snaps I'd show off two of my favourite new things:

My new Red Herring duffle coat from Debenhams that I've worn every day since I bought it- one of the best choices I've made, since it goes with almost anything, it's warm and cosy and I personally think it suits me rather a lot!

And here is a prime example of my poor photography skills, my new watch from Next (couldn't find the actual watch on the site but they have a good selection) that was as cheap as you can find it but very practical. It's a little big around the wrist (nothing that a little nail and hammer can't fix!) and the face itself is quite big but I like that look with watches.

I didn't go too crazy with the photos because I didn't want to embarrass myself with the lack of camera-knowledge too soon, but you should definitely expect to see some more - hopefully better - photos soon!

Any photo taking tips would be extremely appreciated, I've already found Carrie's posts quite useful!

Until next time,

-Deenie xoxo

P.S. Don't make fun of my photo squint nor my falling apart photo wall, for some reason I thought taking a mirror selfie straight out of bed in my tornado-victim room was a good idea, okay?

  2. Swooon, new camera love! It might be worth asking Gem (From Gem With Love) for some sneaky starter tips, she's been amazing with helping me out. I adore that Debenhams coat too, what a great nod to the tartan trend!

    1. Ooh thanks for the tip- I'll ask her, and I think it works well me because tartan is something I'd only be able to pull of subtly!
